For those reasons NAFA Agriculture take care of this by providing you with varieties not only known for their high yields and quality fruits, but also specially adapted to the particular environment of the country.

1.1 ALFALFA SIRINAFA

It is an improved Alfalfa variety developed through a series of breeding programmes to incorporate resistance to pest & diseases together with high productivity. This was achieved by crossing an Australian variety Hunter River with Cuf 1o1.

 

 

Seed Bed Preparation:

Seed bed should be damp firm and weed free.

Sowing Date:

Seed should be sown in:

  • October & November

  • February & March

Seed Rates:

  • 25-40 kg per hectare higher rates for very sandy soils

Harvesting (Cutting)

  • It is recommended to harvest (cut) the crop when 10% of the plants bear flowers

  • Cutting should be 10cm high above soil level. Seriver gives 10 cuts every year
